Our Story …
Lexie and Obi are excited to be cutting a lap through outback NSW to raise money for Cancer Council!
Having watched Lexie and her mate Laura cross the finish line in Townsville last year, Obi is thrilled to be able to join his mum on this new, child-friendly version of the Shitbox Rally.
We'll be hitting the road in the Wood family's beloved Station Car, a 20-year-old Holden Astra that has been relegated to the 'station run' in recent years. We're excited to dust off the cobwebs, throw on a touch of glitter, and set the dear old Astra free on the open road.
Part of the participation is that all teams need to raise $3,000. These funds go to Cancer Council and we are proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part so we would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the cause and help us on our journey!
Here's what I'm doing …
Lunchbox Rally is not a race – it’s a fun adventure. Each night will be spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the days achievements. It’s an incredible opportunity to see some of Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make new friends!
Lunchbox Rally 2025 will see teams set off from Broken Hill and return to Broken Hill 4 days later! Each night we will be stopping in remote outback locations to enjoy bush hospitality at its finest and be making memories that will last a life time.

The Impact, Outcomes & Charity
Lunch Box Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Lunch Box Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
$50 million over the past 15 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
- A research study to develop a vaccine that protects against lymphoma cancers.
- A research trial to standardise international guidelines on melanoma removal.
- A research grant to revolutionise the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
